Nature Trail, Walking Story Book & New Black Bear Forest

Visit our museum grounds and enjoy our Self-Guided Nature Trail, Walking Story Book and New Black Bear Forest free to the public!

Learn about native plants and trees, wildlife and read a fun book while taking in spectacular views of Lake Tahoe. In partnership with Friends of the Tahoe City Library, each Nature Trail station also features a passage from a walking story book. This year, we revived our Black Bear Forest which takes you on an animal adventure where visitors can read about Tahoe's native wildlife while viewing fun animated animals along the trail.

Free Fun for families and kids at the Gatekeeper's Museum!

The Nature Trail, Walking Story Book and Black Bear Forest are open May 1-October 31 each year.
