Stefanie Givens, Executive Director
Stefanie joined the NLTHS as Assistant Director
in January 2004, and was promoted to Executive Director in September 2008. Stefanie received her
B.S. in Geology from CSU Chico, and has completed
coursework towards an M.A. in Education. She has worked
in the non-profit field as a Naturalist, Grant Writer
and Development Consultant, as well as in the business
field in Accounting. Stefanie's priorities are to promote the museum as a destination for locals and visitors by offering new and innovative exhibits and programming.
Sarah Schaefer , Director of Exhibits and Collections
Sarah Schaefer grew up in Sacramento and has loved coming to Tahoe for vacations all her life. She has a passion for history and its preservation through museum collections. Her goal is to make the NLTHS a “must see” tourist attraction, and an increasingly integral part of the North Lake Tahoe community. While completing her BA degree in history from the University of Oregon, she took courses in the Museum Studies graduate program, including The History Museum and Interpretive Exhibit Design.Sarah will be responsible for our collections management, exhibit development, outreach and educational programming. Sarah will also focus her attention on readying the museum for, and developing our 2011 major exhibition.
